What is Minimum Investment, Subsequent Investment and SIP Initial Investment? Akhilesh Trivedi, 15 Dec 2013

If Minimum Investment is Rs. 5000 and SIP Initial Investment is Rs. 500 Can I start a SIP with Rs. 500? Or is it that I have start with Rs. 5000 only?

Fintotal Answer

Hi Akhilesh, Minimum investment is the minimum amount required to open an mutual fund account.  Subsequent Investment is the smallest permissible additional purchase a fund will accept in an existing account. SIP Initial Investment is the miniumum amount required to start with the SIP.  So if the SIP Initial Investment is Rs 500, you can start SIP with Rs 500 miniumum. Feel free to get back for any further clarification.
